Sue Hartley talks about Dark Beauty……

I went along to my first Welshot event, Dark Beauty, yesterday feeling a tad nervous and not really knowing what to expect. I needn’t have worried. I was welcomed by everyone from the moment I walked in, both staff and other delegates alike. The face that there were only two first-timers and everyone else attending were well seasoned Welshotters speaks volumes, and I can see why people keep coming back. The event was well-organised and well thought through, the sets were innovative and beautifully styled, and the models were fantastic. Everyone had plenty of time to photograph each of the four ‘stories’ and to stamp their own style by moving lights and props and asking for different poses. Having said that, Eifion and Martin were always on hand to give guidance and suggestions for people like me who aren’t so familiar with studio work and needed a bit of help. I left feeling that I had not only leaned a lot and got some good shots, but that I’d had fun and made new friends. I’d like to say a big thank you to all concerned and I look forward to my next event.ballerina-by-sue-hartley-dark-beauty
