This Continued Professional Development workshop has been designed to show you how the Masters of Art used light, shade, form, composition, people, backgrounds and props in both paintings and sculpture. This is a practical and theory photographic event that will help you capture stunning images.

This Photographic Workshop has been specifically designed to show you how YOU can use the same techniques and skills in your photography to make your images stand out.

Zoe Richards is a regular at The Walker Art Gallery, both as an observer of the art to help her continually push the boundaries with her own work, and also as a Gallery Speaker.

Zoe has run workshops for The Walker Art Gallery for over 2 years on subjects as diverse as Street Photography to Cecil Beaton to learning from the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood for photography.

After a morning of looking at specific art work and sculptures you will then be able to get your camera out and by using two professional models be using those very same techniques and skills you have seen in your own images that you will be capturing around the beautiful and historic areas of the Walker Art Gallery,

You will learn:

  *  How to look and Light and Shade by viewing how the Master of Art used them.

  *  How to capture and recreate those same poses

  *  How to pose a model

  *  How to photograph and work with a model to get the best results within your imge

  *  How to compose an image by using backgrounds, props and poses

  *  How learning about the Human Form can enhance your images

Notes and handouts will be provided, all tuition and guidance is included and one to one time with Zoe and Eifion with time to work with "Real Lifestyle" models to practise all the theory on.

This Day includes Coffee and Tea on Arrival, Lunch and afternoon refreshments.

Numbers are RESTRICTED to 8 delegates as this is a CPD Workshop.

Event schedule

10.00am - Meet at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool

10.05am - Morning Refreshments, introductions and a small briefing of what will be happening on the day itself.

10.30am - Session one.  A walk around the gallery with Zoe.  Looking and learning from the Masters

12.30pm - Lunch

1.00pm - Session two.  Practical Photography - putting what you have learnt into action with tuition / guidance and a chance to ask questions

3.15pm - Refreshments

3.30pm - Resume shooting / tuition and guidance / questions

5.00pm - Close
