    Default Mark's Last Challenge

OK Mark, now I've got over the move and everything else that's going on for us is settling down I thought I'd set your next challenge - posing. This is not a teach-in on posing, but rather about how to learn about how to pose people. My geekiness on posing started here

Let's go then .... over the next month you're going to get into people watching. wherever you go observe how people stand, how they wait for others, how they sit in cafes, how they cuddle together as they run through the rain, how they look at each other, how they stand at a bar, in a queue, on a station platform, what people do with their feet, their hands, their head, how they lean on walls.

There's a step two to this one, but that's going to be enough to get you going for now

I can highly recommend Manwatching by Desmond Morris. An awesome book on human behaviour that looks at the hidden body language signals such gestures, body position, etc. Its quite an eye opener and whilst it may be a little bit of overkill for Zoe's challenge it will really open your eyes to those little tells that give particular pose's real power.

PS: there's an updated edition called Peoplewatching, but I'd avoid it as its heavy on the text and dropped many of the inline illustrations

Good luck with the challenge... I'm going to try this one as well

Read that book years ago - yep, good one to help you understand body language.

Not fully settled in - I have the kitchen, two bathrooms, hallway, most of the living room and half the bedroom sorted. So got half the bedroom, a bit of the living room and the store room to finish. Eleanor had one room to sort, her bedroom .... it still looks like a bomb has hit! LOL

Yeah, when you start watching them it all looks very random, and nobody looks as those they sit/stand/walk the same. However, after a while its started to looks like everyone does similar things - but very much a variation on a theme), and I think it depends on how relaxed/stressed they are too. Its all quite funny really!!

Isn't it just .... but do be careful about looking like a stalker hehe. And putting weight on because you have too many lattes and muffins whilst engaged in people watching
