Hello everyone, I would like to put a series of photos on a disc and add music. I know how to copy the photos but not sure about how to add music. Can anyone help please? Thanks Anne

Are you wanting this to be a slideshow set to music? If so you'll need specific software to do that. Also, be careful about use of music - you can buy royalty free music to use freely from places like Triple Scoop Music. Take a look at Animoto - they have music you choose from too.
Hi Zoe, thanks for advice. This is for my college work, not for general use. My subject has signed a model release and I intend to give the CD to him after my work has been marked. The music I would like to use is a track from LMFAO as it suits my images perfectly. However, this is not for general release, just for personal use. What are the programs I would need. Not sure if this is even a "go'er" ... just an idea. May not be worth me pursuing it for my college work book if it is too complicated. Time is of the essence, I have just 6 weeks to get my work completed! Left to last minute again as I have been busy experimenting and neglected the "writing" bit!
Lightroom will do it but I'd echo Zoe's point on copyright. It doesn't have to be commercial use to breach copyright and copying to give to friends is as clear a breach as you can get I'm afraid. You might be better looking for royalty free samples instead.
John Arnold giving a demo of the slideshow feature in LR3, LR4 is very similar

Animoto is another option, web based and a bit simpler

Anne, the fact you have a model release is irrelevant in this issue I'm afraid, as this is about you using music without paying for a license for usage. Now, if you want, you can be like many other photographers, many videographers and just ignore copyright laws, hoping you'll never be found out. But then (and sorry, I feel strongly about this) if/when you find your own copyright is infringed, accept that this is just the way it is. On the other hand you could choose now to work with respect to copyright because you want your own rights to be respected.
Animoto has a free version for a 30 second slideshow and you use royalty free music from their site.
The music Welshot use for our video is paid for - I'm sure it didn't cost very much. But there are places as Zoe has mentioned that you can get music for free..
If you are really keen to use the music you like, then see if you can see how much it would cost.... Not sure how but must be a place somewhere online you can check... It might be that it's not much at all.
I suppose it all depends on how much you want to do this.
But I echo Zoe and Paul, it doesn't matter if it's not for general usage, it's still copyright infringement.

Thanks for the advice folks..... think I will look up free sites you have mentioned and steer away from copyright issues. You are right of course, if the boot were on the other foot, would I be happy if someone infringed copyright to something I have produced? No, as I am sure we all feel the same. Again, thank you for the advice.
