Default Full Photographic Studio, Lighting Techniques with Models

    Iolo Penri

By passing on my skills and knowledge that I have gained from a hands on approach I am looking forward to helping people with a passion for Fashion Photography and a thirst for learning about life as a Media Photographer by teaching the tricks of the trade & how to work in a fast paced and competative areana

    Event location

Yr Hen Lechan Dinorwic Marina Y Felinheli LL56 4JN
    Event date & time

    Sunday 22 May 2011 from 9:30 to 17:30
    Event description

This Continued Professional Development Photographic Workshop will give you the tools, techniques and confidence to work in two very different Studio Set-Ups using different lighting techniques.

The first Studio will be a FULL Studio Set-up with four lights and full length background.

The second Studio set-up will be using a Lastorlite Highlighter with two lights.
Both Studio set-ups will use props, reflectors and other accesories.

The Models will be professional and experienced - having worked with Iolo Penri on previous occasions he will know how to get the best from them - showing you, not only how to take a photograph using techniques and equipment but also how to interact with the model so you can capture stunning images.

You will have the help from the professionals who have worked in this genre many years but also have ample time to create an image by yourself.

BEFORE the event takes place you will be sent a questionnaire that will help us to build the day around YOU. You will also be able to ask any questions that you would like to have answered on the day.

YOU will have (after tuition and guidance) be able to set the lighting to suit your image, pose your model, press the shutter button thus capturing the image that will be uniquely yours for you to use in your portfolio.

All images will be sent direct to a laptop / computer for you to review after shooting. From this you will be able to be guided by Iolo and Eifion on how you could improve, shoot better, interact with your models and then have a chance to re-shoot.

Intermediate to Advanced Level of Knowledge of YOUR Camera is required for this workhop. This is NOT a "How to Use Your Camera Workshop"

    You Will Learn:

    * How to interacte with your model.
    * How to position and use the correct lighting and then be able to use it and position it yourself.
    * When to add light / throw light in / use reflectors.
    * How to pose your models.
    * Use of props.
    Triggers will be supplied.

This workshop will be limited to 8 people only.

You are encouraged to ASK questions and participate in discussions throughout the day so that you can gain maximum benefit of both the Team Leaders and the Models. A list of YOUR questions will be gathered BEFORE the event.

This Workshop include a Full Buffer lunch and refreshments.
Full workbook with handouts for you to take home.

Massive thanks to Iolo, Eifion, Annie, Heidi and Branwen for putting up with us all yesterday. Was really impressive seeing a full professional crew at full pelt and I think I speak for every one there when I say we all thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a great deal.

Couple of images of the girls in full war paint.

Thanks Mark for your Comments. Following Last weeks CS5 and Lightroom course, I have 'enhanced' the portrait picture by blurring the backround using a mask in CS5 and adding a vignette from Lightroom.
