I was wondering if there is any mileage in having a "Favourite photo locations" sub forum.

We could add places we like and say why and perhaps add a photo or two from there if we have them.

It would be great for people who don't know an area but have an interest in a particular genre or subject (waterfalls, birds of prey, derelict buildings etc) and the 'expert' could even suggest ideal equipment etc if they are in a position to give that sort of advice.

I still adore macro photography and I imagine it's something we've all tried and some time or other.

Perhaps an Academy evening or even a workshop dedicated to macro photography might be popular. Many people have macro lenses or close-up lenses (filters) and of course you can use extension rings (can be bought quite cheaply) on 'conventional' lenses too.
