I have a 550D and since upgrading to Lion, live view just doesn't work. It had a few problems with Snow Leopard but I thought they may be sorted with the introduction of Lion. Instead Canon have not updated the Live view software to run with the new OS, when I noticed this problem they said that it would be sorted in November. Still no sign in January, that and the printer problems:angry:
I am going to be setting up business hopefully in September if I am well by then. If Canon do not get their finger out by then, I might just invest in a whole new set of gear that works.
Nikon cameras and Epson Printer, Spider etc. Be expensive move but better now than when I have a 5D Mk3 and lenses, that take nice pictures but don't talk to my computer that well.

Not 100% sure if you're talking about the eos utility program or not but if so they've just released a lion compatible version

Agreed it's taken them a while but apple broke loads of things with 10.7. It wreaked havoc in our corporate environment for a while and I'm guessing for a lot of companies the hassle of rewriting perfectly good code to fit in with Apple's latest redefining of agreed standards just wasn't a priority.
No doubt 10.8 will be along soon to break another shed load of programs.
This is why most businesses refuse to be early adopters (beta testers in effect) for new versions of operating systems and only change when there is a compelling commercial reason.

Cheers for this Paul, have been checking with Canon but just got a bit fed up when they said it wasn't ready on about the 20th, they didn't say when it would be ready. The driver they have made for their Pro 9000 printer is like a monopolies issue almost, (a Canon rep actually said that they don't advise the use of Adobe Photoshop with that range of printers, clearly misinformed call centre guy).
I hear what you are saying about not upgrading early. My machine totally broke when I installed Lion got fixed under warranty for free though. It cut my 9 hour battery life to 3 hours, really messed things up, and I only upgraded to hopefully fix a few things wrong with Leopard.
