We have all heard that good old tungsten bulbs will be no langer available when present stock in the shops has run out.
That will leave us, with Photographic Studio Lights with a bit of a problem, most of them , including mine have Tungsten screw lamps fitted. The new style of lamps , being a different shape will not be suitable.
Does anyone know of a supplier who can get me some spare screw fitting lamps, 150 watt for Courtney, 275 watt for my Bowens and 100 watt for my new Lastolite lamps .
Im sure that many other photographers will have the same problem.:camera:

The Bowens bulbs could still be available from www.fotosense.co.uk Might be worth speaking to them about the availability of the others. I have recently ordered a large stock of tungsten bulbs for the house (including daylight craft bulbs for the studio) from http://www.lampspecs.co.uk. I do not think they do bulbs for studio lights but might know who has them.

I'm looking at buying a mains flash system soon, possibly the lastolite system, so does that mean I'll also have trouble buying the lamps afterwards? If so, which system would you recommend I buy?

Thanks
Chris.

The Lastolite Studio system uses 100w screw modelling lamps, which Lastolite do have in stock at the moment.
If you look on line there are various other companies which i have found ,have these lamps in stock and at a reasonable price. The lightbulb Company being one of them.

Might be an idea if a few of us make an order up and buy 10 between us .
Please let me know.

the only other way to get lamps, would to try a electrical hole saler, like city electrical factory on canarfon rd bangor.

they have accses to lamp manifctures.

photographic shops might not keep them, but the lamp manifctures might still produse them for other electrical lighting systems.
