Well as most people nowadays have external hard drives there will be people in my position most of the time , External hard drive dropped on floor ... Doh

Now with it having 200GB of Finished work on it i really need to have the images recovered and after spending a few hours online looking at Images recover sites and finding out it's going to cost over £400 for that to be done ......... well was wondering if there is any people out there that have gone through the same thing and how they got it sorted .

I did that once (with my husband's hard drive :( ). I was lucky in that it was the external housing and connections that were broken, he pulled out the actual hard drive, and connected that directly to the pc and it has been used as an internal additional hard drive since. Not sure that that helps you much tho

Hope you get it sorted

As Marian says if it's just the case that's broken and you can retrieve the actual drive than it's fairly straightforward to reconnect it to a pc. A cable like This (http://www.usbnow.co.uk/Adapters_&_Connectors-USB_to_IDE_Adapters/c42_46/p52/USB_2.0_IDE_&_SATA_Cable_(with_Power_Supply)/product_info.html) will do the job. If the drive is ok you can even get a replacement enclosure for it.

If the drive itself is damaged then it's difficult to say what is retrievable without seeing it.

Thanks Marian and Paul , well the drive is a freecom 500GB and it's a pity as it's the drive that's broken ..... it Clicks when turned on as i have found out from other sites it's needing a good recover team :(

Thanks for your comments :)

I can recommend Computer World in Colwyn Bay. They're great blokes and they know their stuff......:geek
