Just thought I would give you all an idea of something I am working on... And also I need some help with a bit of research (whether people would like these workshops etc)

If you have any suggestions from these ramblings, please just drop me a line ok.

1. We are now involved with a company that runs sailing days and holiday.

We are able to charter a sailing boat (Mistral which is a US built Santana 39) which would leave Holyhead.

Depending on the weather we would sail to Rhos Colyn, staying as close to the land as possible and get off to take pictures.

or

Sail around to the Porth Wen brick works where we will be able to have a few hours shooting there.

The cost, is yet to be determined but will pleasantly suprise you :yahoo: Numbers will be restricted to 7. No exceptions.

The workshops I am thinking of doing are, Creative, Seascape, Landscape, Nature, and even Fashion and Portrature (esp at the brick works, which has meant, until now, it has been logistically impossible to do)

We will start off with these around the Island and then next year maybe think about doing an Islands of Scotland.

We are also working with Steward Ellett and are discussing a lot more Nature Workshops to be added to our list. If you have a specific place in mind you would like to go, can you please mention it here so Welshot and Steward can see if it do-able.

Hope this all sounds exciting to you.

Lee :)

Sounds very exciting to me, the idea of sailing to the brickworks could also include sailing close to MiddleMouse island, with opportunity to photograph the birdlife there.
Fashion and portraiture workshops at the brickworks sound like an excellent idea, and possibly also dereliction.

sounds good, I can't swim and have no sea dog legs.
But it is an amazing opertunity to take picture of land form the sea.

I really like the idea of a boat trip, despite being a bit of a wimp on the water. I regularly plan to get out to Puffin Island when the puffins are there, and each year I seem to miss the boat, That is one location that I would like to go to, I believe that Cap'n Buckley does sometimes grant permission to actually go on the island, but don't know how that is achieved.

Dolphins and whales are another thing that I would really like to see, Cardigan Bay seems good for them, tho I have seen some decent pics taken off Conway too.

Maybe the Sea Zoo, Brynsiencyn for underwater nature, or the Blue Planet Aquarium?

Another location I wondered about was the Tir Prince, to maybe take some action pics of the racing, once more I am not sure how that would be arranged, or whether it is possible

This does sound very exciting and I'm really interested as always! You have a very creative brain to come up with such brilliant ideas, and very practical too for being able to apply these ideas so that we can benefit from your inspirations! Thanks for helping us to further our photographic experiences!! :yahoo:

Sounds great Lee. I think you're going to have to sneak a few extra heads onto the boat ;)

Hi Lee, One of the B&MBCC members has organised boat trips to Puffin Island for amazing bird photography. I've not yet been, but the results I've seen are stunning. I could put you in touch with my friend for the boat operator details. Another member has organised trips to Bardsy Island. This is much larger and covers far more than bird life as it has a wonderfull landscape and old buildings. Again it is weather dependant and needs co-ordinating with the local boatman.
I was recently at PorthWen brickworks with a friend and spent about 4 hours shooting there (without models sadly). Very interseting place with good lighting potential from early morning to late afternoon.
Cheers, Dave Mills
