I have decided to start off a new type of competition - this is intended to be a fast and furious competition run alongside other competitions, and not instead of, but we will see how it goes. Haven't managed to talk to Lee and Eif about this, but assuming that if they don't like it, they will delete this thread!

And this is how it will work:

Place your photo in the thread below (not sure if you can post directly from the gallery - can someone please advise?? - but if so, please put in your gallery as well). The photos can be stock photos, and don't have to be taken during the competition period - so a good reason to build up your gallery.

A maximum of 5 entries allowed and only one entry per person and then voting starts. Please post them as follows :

#1 Photo title 1
#2 Photo title 2,
etc

Please vote according to this running scheme:
1st voter opens the voting by posting in the thread: eg
0-0-0-1-0 would be a vote for the 4th photo.
next voter adds to the vote :
0-1-0-1-0 would be a vote for 2nd photo
next...
0-1-0-2-0 would be a vote for 4th photo......
and so on till a photo receives 5 votes = the winner.

So maximum of 5 photos and 5 votes to win.

Can everyone who enters a photo please vote if possible (not for yourself!), but everyone else is eligible to vote too. If voting stalls for any reason, the person who set the topic has the casting vote to keep things moving.

There is no prize other than the glory of winning and chosing the next topic. This is just intended to be a bit of fun and is intended to be fast paced. It is not intended to detract from the other competitions running on the site.

And so the first topic is "Birthdays" - good luck everyone and have fun! Looking forward to seeing all the pictures.

(The winner can copy and paste instructions into next competition to save time and keep things going.)

Thanks Carol - looks like you had lots of fun! And come on everyone else - if we don't use this forum, we won't benefit from it. I have a few pics I would like to enter, but it is my topic so waiting for the next one. @ Lee - any good pics of your birthday yesterday?

Hi Sarah, no, sorry no photos - it was not that sort of Birthday LOL ;)

I will be sending out an email tomorrow so I will attach a link to this thread. We have a lot of Members on holls at the moment so it may take some time to grow momentum...

But thanks for a different sort of comp it should be great for something quick to do with photography.

Lee :)
