The Landscape Photographer of the Year 2011 Competition is now open for entries. The website is http://www.take-a-view.co.uk/ for those that are interested. The AA publish a book every year with the winning photographs and a selection also appear in the Sunday Times.

The winner gets £10,000 and there are numerous other prizes up for grabs. I was lucky enough to spend a day in Cornwall with Antony Spencer (the 2010 winner) earlier in the year, winning the competition has really changed his life.

Looks like a decent comp, the entry fee might put some off but it will probably keep numbers down too. I'm sure there are plenty of our members who could do well in this.

To re itterate what Paul has said, Yes, the entry fees will probably keep this competition soley for the very serious entrants. Should be of very high quality though. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Hmm, not sure the entry fees will be that off-putting, they're certainly a lot cheaper than entering a lot of things I do both for sports and crafts - £30 for 25 images seems to be something of a bargain (not that i have any intention of entering I have to say), I think they could get flooded with, err, not such wonderful landscapes, I wish the judges luck in wading through them all :D
