Fab vids Lee given me a bit more confidence but, why is it that the microswitch on a Canon hot shoe gets stuck if you put non Canon remotes or even flash guns in it? Is it that the right hand side if the shoe insert on Canon stuff is a few microns thinner than any other gear? I understand this fault occurs even if you insert Canon gear in back to front. Just something worth looking into if you have a 450D or 550D. It may solve what appears to be quite a common problem that Canon haven't been too forthcoming with a real reason for, apart from saying "buy our gear or else"!
