Cities with glass buildings next to each other - when you get reflections of reflections in buildings, you've got a kaleidoscope of abstract opportunities. We saw some on Deansgate on Mark Scholey's workshop, there were a few next to Leeds station on the Discover Leeds workshop too. Obviously lots in London too.
The Lakedistrict Passes - I like the passes because you can drive up them, and if it's raining, you can drive off to the next one to maximise your photographic opportunities. The lakes have micr-climates, so you can be in rain in one valley, then cross a pass into sunshine. It's lazier than walking, but they are stunning and you can move around a lot to make more of a trip.
Leeds.... obviously
Yorkshire Coast - there's a lot of variety, from the sands of Withernsea, the coves of Flamborough, the cliffs at Bempton, the cheesiness of ScARBOROUGH, the gothic charms of Whitby, the lovely fishing towns of Robinhood's Bay, Staithes and Runswick and finally the pier of Saltburn

I have just discovered some pictures of a place called "Baron Hill" from one of my (many) contacts on FlickR, see this guys pictures here:

I did ask him how to get there and he sent me this email:
Baron Hill is a fascinating place and pretty easy to access. It's on the outskirts of Beaumaris (Isle of Anglesey), so the best thing to do is park in the town (maybe by the Library) and walk up Wexham Street/Allt Goch Fawr (B5109) for 5 minutes or so until you leave the houses behind and the road starts to rise up the hill. You'll see a bridge over the road, this is part of the driveway to Baron Hill - once you've walked under the bridge, there is an opening in the wall immediately to your left. Go through it and follow the rough path through the open gate and then up the steps onto the driveway next to the Lodge.
Walk over the bridge and keep going straight ahead on the driveway until the way is blocked by a large tree. Take a turn right here into the Stables courtyard, you'll see the mansion to the left. In the courtyard, there is a path in the left-hand corner that goes up a small flight of steps to the house itself - you can walk right round the house and then back though the gardens to come back out in the stables courtyard.
Map:

Some things to note:
The pathways are quite muddy in places, even at this time of year. All of Baron Hill is private property, there are no public footpaths through it, so in the unlikely event you get stopped by someone, it would be best to just apologise and leave.
Looks an amazing place to photograph if you dare (health and safety nightmare!) - at your own risk !!!

Paul,
I have a PDF of a report I have written about a recent trip to Dublin and thought it might be useful in this section. Is it possible to attach PDF files to threads?
Thanks,
Chris

Don't think so sadly, looks like it's only .doc or .txt files it will accept. I could transfer it from pdf to doc if you wanted (though understand if you want to keep it as a pdf). I'm sure we could probably host the pdf ourselves and link to it instead of attaching it to the post. That would work almost as well.

Paul - I have a doc version as well which I am happy to add but can't see how to add a file.

If you click Go Advanced under the reply box then you should get the option to manage attachments. This then lets you pick a document off your computer and uploads it to the server as an attachment to the message.
Fairly sure this isn't one of those things that only admins can do but if you have any problems let me know and you can mail it to me.

Attached is a PDF file which contains an article I wrote for Mold Camera Club's newsletter about a recent trip to Dublin. Thought it might interest a few people.
