Academy Evening: Chester.

Tonight we will be meeting in the outside venue of Chester Town Centre to do “Freestyle Photography”

Walking around various locations of Chester we will be showing you how to think a little bit differently through your camera lens.
This will be done in a creative way with a set mini project that will make learning fun and friendly. This will lead on to a more formal project that we will be talking part in over the coming months.
We will be walking along the river, around the walls and within the city centre itself.

You'll be taught how to:

How to photograph large structures such as the Cathedral.
Capture images that could be marketed and promoted for sale.
How to work with evening light.
How to photograph in a town environment unobtrusively.
Natural habitants of a Town environment.
How to “See” creatively
Low light and Night Photography once the sun has gone.

Please bring your flash gun and tripod if you have one and a variety of lenses should you have them.

Supper will be included. Venue to be confirmed.
You must register online to confirm your attendance.

I just wondered if we will be going inside Chester Cathedral during the evening ? Just that if we are then I can recommend a Chester Charisma card (free for people in Chester/ small price if your not) to gain free entry into Chester Cathedral :

Hi I booked on this Academy Evening, this will be my first Academy event. I looked at some of Marks pics last night, and I can see they are of a very high standard. I am just a relative beginner, need to learn how to use my camera as I am starting a HNC at Llandrillo in September.

Thanks for (another) great evening!. Would certainly be up for another night like that again - certainly think we should try and do something when the clocks change later this year and we get dark evenings, you can get some great shots at night :

Thanks for a great evening, I learned a lot and had a good time too, I wish I could have stayed that extra half hour longer.

I managed to get sometime to process the images I captured that evening, I uploaded the first 6 to a new FlickR set last night:
