Led by Steward Ellet, Welshot intend to have a casual photographic day based in three areas on Anglesey on Sunday 28th March. Starting 10.00am until after sunset.

Cemlyn Bay and surrounding area
Penrhos Nature Reserve
South Stack

We intend to take a stroll round these areas and ‘find’ photographic subjects. This could be anything: Birds, flowers, trees, landscape or even buildings, as well as some abstract. The only limitations are our imagination. The subject matter will be up to you.

Steward Ellett will be on hand to give advice on how to get the best shots. Walking round will give you the chance to look for shots that interest you and then learn how to get the best out of them. The Welshot team will also be on hand to help with anything you may need help with.

Apart from having a nice walk this day is designed to get you (with help) to work on spotting shots that maybe you would not have thought of before. It will teach you to look beyond the obvious. We also want you to try photographing subjects that maybe you have not tried before.

There will be plenty of time to ask questions and practice / learn about composition and camera techniques.

We are also going to try and get someone from Cambrian to come along with digital scopes and binoculars so that you can have a go at these products as well.

All you need to bring is your camera, lunch, your enthusiasm and a sense of humour.

Hot and cold drinks will be provided

Equipment:
Walking Shoes – Boots – Appropriate Clothing for the day -

Camera – variety of lenses (including macro if you have them). Filters (if you have them)
Tripod – beanbag – Camera bag.

Early Bird Academy Members, on or before 12th March £35.00
Academy Members, after 12th March £40.00
Non-Academy Members £45.00

Hi Everyone,

Just like to mention, even though Lee has described the day, that there will be a lot of variety. South Stack is good for landscapes, including with luck a good sunset. Of course there might be some birds.
Penrhos Nature Reserve is coastal and along with some good coastal shots there will be a chance to try some abstract stuff. There are wooded areas where we can practice zooming whilst using a long exposure as well as some moving tripod work. It can give some great abstract images. There is also some old buildings and walls within the woods. Macro work might factor for flowers, including close up of rock and seascape patterns etc.
Bring a variety of lenses and that way you can get the best from the day.
This is a chance to try something different and test your photographic imagination.

Hope to see you there..

Steward..

feel free to contact me should you have any questions..
