After feedback from several academy members it has been decided to trial a forum for the discussion of images taken on or inspired by Welshot events.

I'm sure you all know that Welshot are determined not to be competitive and exist purely to allow you to have fun and learn with your camera. We are commited to keeping this forum as a safe place to discuss your images without fear of criticism. You can use this forum to simply post images that you're happy with or to seek advice on technical matters or post processing. Users are welcome to offer feedback on images as long as it stays positive and encouraging.

You will need to host your images somewhere and link to them in this forum. We recommend that you make use of the Welshot flickr group (http://www.welshotimaging.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=99) to host your images. Once you have the image in your flickr photostream you simply click on the "share this" button and then "grab the html". Copy the code into a post here and it will magically display your image.

For example if I post (I've added some spaces to stop this turning into an image)

< a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/monpics/4290457103/" title="MEGA OIS Rocks by paulsaz, on Flickr">< img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4031/4290457103_3c11cf9672.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="MEGA OIS Rocks" /></a >

exactly as it's taken from flickr I get

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/monpics/4290457103/" title="MEGA OIS Rocks by paulsaz, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4031/4290457103_3c11cf9672.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="MEGA OIS Rocks" /></a>

Images to be no longer than 500 pixels on the longest edge please, they will act as a link to your flickr photostream for those that want to see them any larger and it keeps the pages neat. We will be removing pictures that are too large.

Feel free to offer suggestions on making this forum more useful to you.

I would just like to add that Welshot are very committed to giving Academy Members what they want / need to get the best from their camera.

It did not take as much persuasion as I thought it might because Eifion and I are REALLY keen to see the images you either take on an Academy Evening / Workshop & Course or as a result of all you have learned.

If you post an image a description would be great, if your images are taken as result of something you have tried after learning something from one of our events it would be great to see a simple explanation. Others may well learn something from you and gain inspiration.

This will also be the "Platform" that we will use for enterning our competitions to win stuff.... Like the EPZ tee shirt, Put your image on a greetings card and theNetwork She win a Front Cover, etc etc.

Even though we are non competitive a few of the Member's only benefits include some special events as I have mentioned and these require us to look at your work. Using this as a platform will help us to do this, rather than you having to send them as emails.

I ask all our Welshot Members (and I know I really do not have to :) ) to please be courteous and helpful to others.

Have fun guys, we are looking forward to seeing your images.

Lee :)

It's still in the Painting with Light thread, next one down!

And they are both good images of the church.

Always good to see someone trying something new.
I like the effect you have achieved, are you sure that you haven't done this before, they do look good.

I especially like the second one with the camera, good watersplash.
