Hey Rob.

Really glad you enjoyed yourself and I hope that this forum also is a place where people want to come along and enjoy themselves. Sort of like an extension of the Academy Evenings really.

I need a better quality lens for distance shooting.
I have a EF 75- 300 F4-5.6 111 usm canon lens but the speed is not good enough for the shots Eifion is training us to take
....motorbikes and cars!!!!!
I though my images were great, but he says ok !!!!!!!
I need a 2.8 instead of the 4.
Paul had a good one I think when we went to the zoo?
What did you have paul?
Eifion has suggested a 70?....-200 2.8 lens but I would like one that is higher than 200 as I have the
18 - 200 sigma for eveyrday use.
Any ideas?

Hi Sian.:)

If Eif ever gets his laptop back he will see this :P

He has warned me tonight he wants a go....

Post this in the Equipment board right at the top, then it wont get lost in all the chit chat....:)

Eif was only trying to save you money, you know what he's like lol :geek

Hi Sian,

Got to agree with eifion the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 is a very good lens for motorsport.

But if you are looking for something with a little more reach, you could get a Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM. http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lenses/telezoom/120-300mm.htm

or another option is a Canon 100-400 but this comes with a heavy price tag, but is a fantastic lens.

I currently have the tamron 28-105 f2.8 which again is a fantastic little lens.

i suppose the final decision is down to how much money you want tospend on a lens.

Hope this info helps!

Hi Rob and Sian.

Eifion has replied to this under the Advice from Professional Photographers section.

The equipment that Rob has suggested would be ideal for what she needs but Eif is looking at a few other problems Sian would have to overcome, eg Money and Weight....

Maybe we could get Hire a Camera to come and give us a demo........
