Cheryl Surry, welshot imaging team leader

My name is Cheryl Surry.  My genre of Photography is Nature and I use  Nikon D3s with a variety lenses neccesary to capture this genre.  I originally learned using film.

My ideal dream gadget would be a Teleport system - that way I could make the most of time available. Imagine - sunrise - black grouse lekking, later that same day - osprey fishing, later still that same day a sea eagle in fishing in a Norwegian fjord and finish the day with the Northern Lights somewhere far north.

I have been lucky to work alongside a number of really good photographers and I am inspired by different aspects of those many individuals. Some inspire me with their creativity, some with their technical skill, some with their joy of sharing knowledge and love of photography and some with a passion for informing through the power of images. I try to learn something from each of them. Person you would most like to meet and why? I can't say that this is something I've thought about before, so I'm struggling to narrow this down to one person. Maybe I'll answer the question if you attend one of my workshops, if you remember to ask that is!

Even though it changes from day to day the photograph I am most proud of is and I suppose most people would expect me to nominate "Snowy Squirrel" from Countryfile at the moment, but right now it is still one of my puffin shots from 2008.

The strangest place I have photographed in is spending hours waiting in hides for an animal to show is considered pretty strange by most of my colleagues.  I have just spent numerous days in a small hide in Finland photographing bears, wolfs and wolverine.
